Subaru and Lou Fusz Subaru St. Peters believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. A Cool Pet Rescue

This story is a follow up from a story we did back in July of 2022.Ā  In July of 2022, our area witnessed a historic flood that ravaged many homes and local businesses.Ā  One of the businesses affectedĀ by the flood was Stray Paws Rescue.Ā  Their building was submerged by 3 feet of water.Ā  The loss of the puppies was devastating, and the building was no longer operational.Ā  Lou Fusz Subaru "adopted" the shelter.Ā  We raised money and supplied labor to get their facility back up and running.Ā  Fast forward to July of 2024.Ā  We saw on the owner's FacebookĀ page that their van they use to rescue animals was broken down.Ā  The A/C wasn't operating and they could not use the van to go rescue animals until it was repaired.Ā  They had started a collection through PayPal, Venmo, and Cash App to try and raise the $1600 estimated for the repairs.Ā  One of our team members saw the post and brought it to the attention of the management team.Ā  Lou Fusz Subaru got in contact with the owner, Linda Roever, and told here they would be willing to pay the remaining balance for the repairs if she could get the van to their facility.Ā  A couple days later, the van was there, and the parts were ordered to get the A/C working again.Ā  The parts arrived and the van was put in the shop to make the necessary repairs.Ā  Once the repairs were completed, we reached out to Linda's team and let her know her van was back in working order. She was excited as her team had been holding off on a trip to Memphis to rescue a Momma and her 10 puppies. She promptly came up to the store and we got Linda's team at Stray Paws Rescue back out on the road doing the great work that they have done for years.Ā  They have been a great partner of ours and a huge asset to our community. Ā Lou Fusz Subaru is proud to be a partner with Stray Paws Rescue and plans to continue supporting their great cause.

Bob Saves the Day!

Our Used Manager Bob was leaving his friends house late one night and he heard some crying/whining. Thankfully it was loud enough for him to hear as it was a very young kitten (a couple weeks old) who was abandoned hiding behind the rear tire of his truck. First thing Bob did was scoop it up, put him in a box and took him home. Bob got up every couple hours to bottle feed the little guy. The next morning he called Jessica, another Manager at the retailer to see if she could coordinate getting the little kitten to our local pet rescue Straw Paws Rescue. We do lots of events with Stray Paws so we have build a great relationship with them. Well long story short Jessica met the little man that morning and fell in love! She decided to keep the little man and take care of him and bring him home to the other rescue dogs/cats she has at home! Thanks Bob, Jessica, and John (Jessica's Husband) for saving this cute little dude! Look at those beautiful eyes...

Share the love LLS Gateway Chapter

On Friday, April 26, Lou Fusz Subaru of St Peters was able to meet with the locals leaders of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society-Gateway Chapter. This was a great day for Lou Fusz Subaru. We were able to present them with a check for $25,000. This was made possible due to the fund raising efforts of Lou Fusz Subaru St Peters during the months of November and December, 2023. Every time someone purchased a new Subaru during the dates, they had an option to pick from 5 charities. Four of them were national, and one was selected by Lou Fusz Subaru as our "Hometown Charity". Subaru and Lou Fusz donated $325 to our local chapter of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society for every car sold where a customer picked our hometown charity. Subaru still donated $250 to the charity of their choice, if it was not the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. When the dust cleared at the end of December, we had raised $25K for our hometown charity. Not to be outdone, our sister store in Creve Coure did the same thing. Together, we were able to raise $50,000 for our hometown charity. This organization is near and dear to our hearts. This was our 4th year sponsoring them. Over these last 4 years, we have been able to raise a combined $216,400.10. Thank you to everyone who purchased a Subaru and chose to support our hometown Charity. Go Subaru!!!

National Make A Dog's Day!

According to the ASPCAĀ®, nearly 6.3 million companion animals enter shelters nationwide every year, where many live day after day without the love of a family or a home. Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home and thatā€™s why we are the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA. Through our Subaru Loves PetsĀ® initiative, Subaru and our retailers have been committed to improving the lives of as many shelter animals as possible. Pets make the world a better place. Subaru is proud to help make the world a better place for them with over $51 million donated to national and local organizations, which has supported the adoption, rescue, transport, and health of over 420,000 animals. Here at Lou Fusz Subaru we have a strong relationship with a local no kill shelter (Five Acres) and have them come in every year with their underdogs. For this event we brought in donuts and coffee from Krispy Kreme for all customers and employees! We can't thank Subaru and 5 Acres enough for all they do for our 4 legged friends!

Subaru Loves to Learn

Subaru believes that all students deserve an equal and fair opportunity at a quality education. Thatā€™s why we are continuing our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org to make a difference in the lives of even more students this year. Millions of students in high-needs schools lack the supplies and learning materials necessary to be successful in the classroom. In fact, 92% of classrooms have students whose families cannot afford to purchase any school supplies for their children, often requiring teachers to purchase resources using their own money. Subaru and our retailers are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are most needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through this partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers will have supported more than 470,000 students nationwide and are proud to be the largest corporate supporter of AdoptAClassroom.org. Lou Fusz Subaru St. Peters adopted 15 classrooms at Stephen Blackhurst Elementary School this year and couldn't have been more excited to see how much the students and teachers both appreciated all the supplies!

Down the street rescue...

On her way to work one day one of our Managers (Jessica) got a call from a neighbor saying they found a litter of kittens in the neighbor and asked if Jessica had any ideas on what to do. Being as we have a very close relationship with multiple local rescues, Jessica reached out to the first one (the one she had personally rescued a puppy from) and they were more than happy to take in the litter of kittens and mom of course. In the meantime Jessica took them all home to make sure they were warm and that momma cat could take care of the little ones without worry of the elements. Later that day they made it in to Straw Paw Rescue where shortly after all were given a clean bill of health and all including mom were rescued!

Subaru Loves to Help!

Imagine having to go without something as simple as a pair of socks. Itā€™s something many of us have never had to consider, but for millions of people experiencing homelessness each year, many of whom are children, this is often a reality they face. Subaru and its retailers helped to support those in need by providing one of the most requested items by shelters, socks. This small item that most of us take for granted, can truly have an enormous impact by providing comfort and maintaining the health of those who are experiencing homelessness. Through the Subaru Loves to HelpĀ® initiative, Subaru and our retailers have donated over 500,000 pairs of new socks, 50,000 of which are youth socks, along with 100,000 warm blankets for adults and children experiencing homelessness. Our contribution for Lou Fusz Subaru was 1000 socks donated to Youth in Need in St. Louis MO.

Random Acts of Kindness #3

Here at Lou Fusz Subaru we like to randomly do good things throughout the community! This time we decided to drop off Raising Canes to our local Firefighters and Police for lunch. Needless to say they all were very thankful for this. It is always a great feeling to be able to be in a position to surprise others, especially those who give so much to help within the community. Thanks to all the first responders out there!

Giving to those that Give

Our store recently had a Holiday celebration for all of our employees at the dealership. The holidays are always a time to celebrate with friends, family, and co-workers. The weather was great that day and everyone was feeling the holiday spirit. Food was catered in for all. Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, salad, desserts, were spread over our conference table. As the celebration was winding down, an employee asked what we were going to do with the leftovers. At first we thought that maybe the employee wanted to bring some home to their family, which would have been completely ok. But that wasn't the case at all. The employee actually had a great idea. Why don't we pay it forward and spread more holiday cheer by giving our unopened food to another cause or business? There was a local pet adoption center that had been on the news that morning and the employee saw it on TV. Being a Subaru dealership, we have a huge passion for animals and those that care for them. It always seems like the employees at those adoption centers have the biggest hearts and love what they are doing to help these animals. We wanted to do something for them. We decided this is where we were going to bring the food. When we got there, we walked in and were kindly greeted by Julia. Julia is a passionate animal lover. We asked her if it would be ok to drop off some food for them. They said sure and we went to get it out of the Subaru. When we walked back in, they were in complete shock. They thought we meant dog or cat food. (These are the most selfless people you could ever meet.) They were so grateful for the food and thanked us several times. We thanked them for all the good they do for the animals and the community. It was a great feeling to bring some joy to all the employees at Pet Adoption Center.

Random Acts of Kindness #2

We decided here at Lou Fusz Subaru to pay for random Raising Cane's customers lunches for an hour! After this, since the employees were so great, we went and got them cookies from Crumbl! They were very surprised and appreciative. These random acts really do bring people together and it is so awesome to see the look on their faces when surprised with a lunch! We are for sure more than a dealership...

Slumber Paw-ty!

"What is Slumber Paw-ty? The second annual Greater St. Louis Area Slumber Pawty will take place on March 5, 2022 for a 24-hour period. This collaborative fundraising event will take place at fifteen participating local animal welfare organizations with all proceeds going directly to help homeless dogs and cats in our community.Hereā€™s how it works: Five Acres Animal Shelter will recruit at least fifteen raving fans who are committed to raising $1,000 each for the shelter. This event is 100% virtual and takes place largely on social media. These individuals will spend the night encouraging their followers to support their shelter by sharing updates with their followers on social media about the Five Acres mission, promote our programs and ask for donations toward their fundraising goal." We were thrilled to be invited to this virtual event! Here at Lou Fusz we chose the top tier donation of 500.00 dollars, donated a handful of new parent Bark Boxes, and loaned them an Ascent to have the pups get out and feel the wind in the hair! We are honored to have such a close relationship with 5 Acres and are so thankful to all they do for all the 4 legged friends we have out there!

Unplanned rescue!

Driving home one day one of our Managers (Jessica) noticed what they thought was a young squirrel run across the street right in front of them. She pulled over to see if she could help as it look injured. To her surprise it was a kitten, not a squirrel. When she did end up getting close enough (the kitten got stuck trying to escape) she noticed that the kitten was injured. Jessica then took the kitten straight to the vet. After the look over, it was discovered that she had a broken jaw and needed surgery. Jessica knew right then it needed to happen and that she would take Coco home after! Weeks later, Coco is fully healed and part of the family including two other cats and one new rescue pup! Thanks for what you did Jessica and John! Coco is for sure worth it!

100 year flash flood...

On July 26th, 2022, St. Louis, MO had a 100-year flood drop 8-9 inches of rain in seven hours, breaking a 107-year record. Highways were impassible, basements were flooded, and residents were stranded awaiting water rescues. One of local animal shelters, Stray Paws Rescue, had up to 3 feet of water in their facility. Unfortunately, the storm hit so quickly, some of their resident animals did not make it. This was devastating to so many people in this area, us included. Lou Fusz Subaru St. Peters immediately reached out to Stray Paws to see what they needed. As soon as we got the list, we posted on our social media asking for help. For the next two weeks we collected dog and cat food, additional kennels, seven trash bags full of blankets, as well as miscellaneous items that were lost in the flood. All these items came from our employees, customers, and our local community. We filled up an entire Subaru Ascent full of the items we collected and headed to the shelter. As we were dropping off the supplies, we also donated $3,500 to their rebuilding efforts. While our donations helped address the immediate need, the bigger issue was their facility. While there, we were given a tour of the building and saw firsthand the devastation the flood had caused. After seeing this, we went from donating supplies to assisting in their rebuilding effort. First on the list was replacing the drywall which our local Home Depot graciously donated. As soon as we got back to the dealership our GSM John Molloy called a family member that does drywall to see if he would be interested in helping. Without hesitation, that family member volunteered his time to replace all the drywall! In total, our efforts saved them $4,500 in materials and labor! The last piece that we were able to help with were their custom shirts for their fundraising efforts. Their supplier fell through, so we connected them with our local partner. The rebuilding effort is still underway but weā€™re happy to say all of their animals have been placed in foster homes and are safe and sound! "Thank you, Lou Fusz Subaru, for the check, food, and blankets. They have been reaching out since day 1 figuring out ways to help us and we couldn't be more appreciative." -Stray Paws

Subaru Loves the Underdogs!

We all love pets here at Lou Fusz Subaru! We have a close relationship with 5 Acres Rescue, the only no kill shelter in St. Charles county. Getting with them, we found out what items they needed the most, and brought them as much that could fit in a Crosstrek! More importantly, we got to spend some time with the "Underdogs!" 5 Acres let us meet the dogs that have been there the longest and spoil them with some toys and treats! More than that though, we got to spread the word though this video to anyone looking to adopt that these pups are ready and waiting for their "Furever" home! Thank you 5 Acres for everything you do, and thank you Subaru for not just saying it, but living it...Love, It what makes Subaru a Subaru...

Paw-Toberfest!!!

5 Acres rescue a local no kill shelter put on a 2 day event for animal lovers! It consisted of a Friday night Glow run/walk and a Saturday Paw Parade! Local vendors came out to support 5 Acres and all their 4 legged friends. We were thrilled when they reached out to us at Lou Fusz Subaru to help in any way we could! We participated in both events and handed out pet supplies and toys! We also are getting with them to bring in some Underdogs to our Make a Dogs day at the store on the 22nd. Thanks Subaru and 5 Acres for this awesome opportunity!

Random Acts of Kindness

Lou Fusz Subaru St Peters wanted to do something positive for our community and Let them know that Lou Fusz and Subaru are more than just a car company. We wanted to give back and we also wanted to have an impact on our city and its citizens. We bounced around several ideas before settling in on one that we felt made sense. We decided to outfit a vehicle and drive around town doing random acts of kindness. We called it Lou Fusz Happy Hour. We decided we could go to local fast food restaurants, and pay for people's food, without them having prior knowledge. We picked 2 restaurants, and decided to pay for customer's orders as they came through the drive thru. It was a hit! People were honking their horns and thanking us for the free lunch. We also had a chance to stop by the Cottleville Fire Department and Cottleville Police Department, and dropped off Crave Cases to them. We thanked them for their public service and handed over the food. The guys were all really great. It went so well that we have decided this will be an ongoing event, so keep a lookout for a Lifted Crosstrek, which could be coming to a restaurant near you soon!

Juan Gozalo - Subaru Salesperson of the Year

My wife and I have purchased two Subaru's' in the past year and it is all because of Juan Gozalo, a sales person for Lou Fusz Subaru in St Peter's, MO. Juan exemplifies what it means to love Subaru and it shows. He is knowledgeable and speaks from the heart. He ensured we were 100% satisfied when we purchased our 2019 Crosstrek. Because of his enthusiasm for the brand and making me a believer through a year of Subaru ownership, I decided it was time for me to make the leap and purchase my own Subaru, a 2020 Outback Onyx XT. Juan was the first person I called and he made it his own personal goal to help me find the right Subaru. Juan's dedication to his customers and steadfast love for Subaru is what made us a Subaru family for life.

Science book donation

Wow! Thank you so much to our friends at Lou Fusz Subaru! We recently were the lucky recipients of a very generous donation of high-quality Science books. In addition to the quality of the books, we are also so excited about the multiple copies of each book. There is no substitute for engaging literature that gets our students excited about learning, and we are thrilled that multiple students will be able to simultaneously read and explore the science topics covered in these books. These texts support our focus on providing student experiences that get them excited about STEM and enhance our goal to promote learning at high levels. We cannot thank you enough for the generous and thoughtful donation! Sincerely, Mrs. Parn Principal Duello Elementary School

SUBARU LOVES TO CARE

Lou Fusz Subaru ā€“ St.Petersā€™ General Sales Manager, Dave Arbogast, delivered 80 blankets and 10 Craft Kits to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Childrenā€™s Foundation on Tuesday, July 18th. Ruth DePew, with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Gateway Chapter, helped unload the generous donation from Subaru and present them to Aleeza Granote, Hematology/Oncology Social Worker & Case Manager. Aleeza told us that blankets are one of the most popular requests of patients getting treatment in the hospital, they will be greatly appreciated! We visited with Vicky Tomber, Executive Assistant, and learned more about the mission of the Foundation. As we were saying our goodbyes, someone came in and asked if we could drop off a couple cases of blankets to the hospital, they needed them for patients! So, back in the car with two cases of soft, warm blankets - delivered within moments of the request to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Hospital. Who would have thought that delivering blankets on a triple digit, sweltering summer day in the city of Saint Louis would be a good idea? We do and We did! LLS ā€“ Gateway is proud to partner with Lou Fusz Subaru ā€“ St. Peters to help provide care, support, and warmth to patients and their families. Thank you Lou Fusz Subaru! #subarulovestocare #gatewaylls #fusz

Humane Society of Missouri Partnership

The Lou Fusz organization has engaged the Subaru Love Promise wholeheartedly by supporting initiatives and organizations in our community. In Lou Fusz's two year association with the Humane Society of Missouri, we have assisted in raising $20,000 to help in their mission of education for the general public and finding homes for neglected and abandoned animals. Also in support of this important organization, we at Lou Fusz, provide several other forms of support including two pet adoption events and advertising for the Humane Society to inform the public of their important work. We've also provided a dog park at our Creve Cour location for the use of not only our customers but to the general public. This allows people in the area, who primarily live in condos and apartments to have a safe and secure location for pet exercise. The Humane Society of Missouri is an important partner because they rescue and adopt small animals, large animals such as horses, offer veterinary services to all and seek to stop animal abuse and neglect of all kinds. We're proud to support those efforts!
